Experiencing God’s Power
By Deanna S.
In my devotions, I found an encouraging scripture verse about our minds and what we need to do to experience the power of the living God.
“How much more, then, will the blood of Jesus Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleans our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the Living God!” Heb. 9:14
We may be lacking in faith for claiming victory over sin. We have self-doubt, thoughts of failure, not forgiving ourselves. We are looking inward, not upward and cannot experience the Holy Spirit in His fullness, so we are not equipped to do His work.
We must believe that He has set us free from sin. We need to claim victory, rejoice, talk and sing about His redeeming power, the blood of Jesus…how it cleanses us and sets us free. This will remind us that we are a child of the King, that Satan is defeated, and that God is on the throne.
There is great power available to us if we only believe that Jesus loved us enough to die for us. He’s forgiven our sins, wants communion with us, and wants us to experience His power and His joy. With child-like faith, we need to accept His grace with thankful hearts.
Oh, the Love that will not let us go1. Let us never forget that though the wrong seems so strong, God is Ruler yet!2 We must awake our souls to joyful songs; let pure devotion rise. Till praise employs our thankful tongues, and doubt forever dies!3
My prayer is for a heart to praise my God…for a heart that from sin has been set free. We have God’s grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt. When we plunge beneath the fountain filled with blood…drawn from Emanuel’s veins – we lost All our guilty stains.4 Let’s work together to break down every idol, cast out every foe and ask Jesus to wash us whiter than snow.5 Then, believe with our whole beings and never doubt that the blood of Jesus has brought healing to our souls!
