How God Leads

How God Leads

MC Midweek Nov. 2, 2022

by Pastor Cliff Myers

It is hard to believe it was one year ago this week that Allen Suit called me in Florida and asked if I would consider being the Transitional Pastor at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Yes, Patty and I were at the Florida Seafood Festival in Apalachicola as we will be this week too. It is amazing how Jesus, the Mighty Counselor, through the Holy Spirit leads us.

One of my favorite passages of scripture is I Peter 2:9, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

Jesus has led me for many years now.
Jesus has led me out of darkness into light.
Jesus has led me out of sin and toward His righteousness.
Jesus has led me out of the kingdom of the devil to the Kingdom of God.
Jesus has led me out of emptiness into fullness.
Jesus has led me out of conflict into peace.
Jesus has led me out of death into life.

All my life Jesus has led me. He even leads to minister in certain locations. I was in Florida on vacation and he led me to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He led me to bring HOPE, HEALING, HEALTH to a congregation that loves Him. What a joy it has been to allow Jesus to lead through this past year. Looking into next year, Mitch and I have already sensed God leading us to do a series of messages on the theme “GAME ON”. I love how God leads.

Church:

  • He promised to be with us.
  • He promised to give His servants the words to say.
  • He promised to bring forth the harvest if the seeds were planted.
  • He promised that His Word would not return unto Him void.
  • He sent us, and He promised us victory!

Essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

So, let me sing it in my heart, as you sing it in yours…”Where He leads me I will follow, where He leads me I will follow, where He leads me I will follow.  I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way!”
